Venezuela set to order Russian aircraft News
The Venezuelan government is expected this month to order two Ilyushin Il-96-300 airliners to be used for commercial airline and government VIP transport. The widebodies - each valued at around million according to local government sources - are scheduled for delivery in the first and fourth quarter of next year. Sources in Venezuela indicate that one of the airframes will be fitted out as a presidential transport aircraft in a configuration similar to that used by the Russian government.
UCA Renewed Maintenance Organisation Certificate and Air Operator Certificate News
19 and 20 November 2008 State Enterprise of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine “Ukrainian Cargo Airways” (UCA) got renewed Maintenance Organisation Certificate No. ВР 0106 dated 19 November 2008 and Air Operator Certificate No. 145 dated 20 November 2008. The certificates were handed over by Deputy Minister Transport and Communications of Ukraine – Chairman of the State Aviation Administration O.Davydov.
DayJet Looking At Restarting News
DayJet founder Ed Iacobucci remains bullish on the per-seat air taxi model his company pioneered and he says he´s looking for $ 5 million to get started again in a limited way. Iacobucci told the South Florida Business Journal he would operate the revived version of DayJet with about 10 aircraft and envisioned a service similar to the one he shut down a month ago, laying off the staff and returning 28 aircraft to Eclipse Aviation.
Hawker Beechcraft Receives Nearly $ 200 Million Order from Lider Signatures S.A. News
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) will place a bold foothold in South America with the announcement that Brazilian-based Lider Signatures S.A. has ordered 23 aircraft spanning the Hawker Beechcraft product line. Lider, a Hawker Beechcraft dealer and authorized service center since 1996, purchased what is considered to be one of the largest general aviation aircraft orders in Brazilian history with a value estimated at nearly $ 200 million.
